Are You Accomplished and Under 40?

Do you know someone else who is?  I know we have some in our group.  Have YOU been nominated?

The Young Professionals of Vancouver are proud to support the Vancouver Business Journal and their search for those Accomplished 40 & Under in our community.

Accepting Nominations for YPOV Board Members

Ever wondered how you can get more involved in the community, build your resume, meet new business contacts and have fun all at the same time? Come on, you know you have...

As a Young Professionals of Vancouver board member, you can do all those things and more. We're currently accepting nominations for new board members. Now is the time to step up and get involved!

Here are the positions available and their duties:

VP of Special Events - establish a minimum of 4 Social events (i.e. Raft trip, bowling night, paint ball, bbq/picnic, etc) and 2 Educational events (Breakfast of Champions) per year.

VP of Civic Involvement - coordinate with Non Profits and get YPOV involved in charitable events and volunteer work. A minimum of 2 "cause" events (i.e. Relay for Life or Bowl for Kids Sake) and 4 "civic activities" per year (i.e. clean ups, senior care visits). In addition, this person will be a liaison for Non Profits to promote their local activities within the community via our email distribution list.

VP of Monthly Events & Sponsorship - Select venues and schedule monthly events. Events are generally scheduled at least 3 months prior. In addition, generate monthly sponsorship awareness from local businesses and coordinate any raffles or fund generating activities.

VP of Membership - Drive at least 5 people minimum per month to the website to sign up as a new member. Send out personalized "Welcome" emails to new members each month and to compose personalized group emails about special events for the board and its members to distribute and forward on to our business associates.

We're looking for those of you who want to get involved in taking YPOV (and yourselves) to the next level in our community. If you think you're a good fit for one of these positions, we encourage you to fill out the nomination information below and email it back to us for consideration. Yes, it's OK to nominate yourself! If you know someone else who may be a good fit, feel free to forward this info to them. We would greatly appreciate it.

YPOV's Day at the Park!

The Young Professionals of Vancouver invite you to our first family friendly networking event - YPOV’s Day at the Park!

Date: Saturday - September 19th, 2009

Location: Marshall Community Park - 1015 E. McLoughlin, Vancouver, WA

Bring your entire family along with your favorite foods, beverages, and park activities! Softball/kickball games start at 1pm-ish.
